What is it?
Glyceryl behenate is a saturated fatty acid (C22H43O2), a mixture of glyceryl esters of behenic acid made from glycerin and behenic acid). The mixture contains predominately glyceryl dibehenate. Glyceryl behenate is used in the pharmaceutical industry as an excipient in tablets and capsules and as a lubricant. It is a food substance generally regarded as safe by the FDA.
