What is it?
Sodium (Na) is a chemical from the periodic table of elements with the atomic number of 11. It is a soft, silvery metal. Sodium is often combined with chloride to produce NaCl, or sodium chloride, which is normal table salt. Sodium is a common salt form that is used for many medications to make them more easily dissolvable once ingested, for example, sodium bicarbonate or divalproex sodium.
